CREO has a line of all-natural, vegan, paraben-free, plant-derived hair and skin care products that I just recently discovered, and I’m happy to say that they live up to my high expectations. At this point, vegan hair care, especially shampoos, need to seriously kick ass for me to post on VBR.

My fave CREO products include their shampoo, hair masque and shine spray. Check it out:

Nano Pro-tec Hair Cleanser with CREOPLEX: This awesome, sulfate-free, gentle hair cleanser is packed with anti-oxidants and sunscreen protection (that’ll help maintain your color if you dye your hair). It comes in a Vanilla Orange scent which is creamsicley delicious! (You know me, I’m all about the sweet smellin’ beauty products). I love the consistency and texture of this shampoo. I think most people have become so used to the feeling of conventional shampoos stripping their hair until it’s literally squeaky clean… Well, this shampoo is refreshingly gentle yet totally effective.

CREO Therapeutic Hair Masque: Boy oh boy, am I a HUGE fan of hair masques. I know some people are blessed with beautifully thick, healthy, shiny hair but I am not one of these peeps. My hair needs love and a lot of it, especially in the form of deep conditioning masques. This CREO masque seals down the outer layers of the hair shafts which make hair soft and shiny. This product is also packed with lots of anti-oxidants and UVA/UVB protection (again, great for retaining hair color). This concentrated, hearty conditioner will help ease the effects of constant blow dying and processing. I recommend rockin’ this hair mask at least once a week.

Nano Pro-tec Weightless Shine Spray: This nourishing Omega 3 and 6 fatty acid-rich formula tames frizzies and adds the perfect amount of shine to hair—makes it look sleek and healthy. And it truly is weightless. I have been using this spray religiously after styling my freshly washed hair, and I LOVE it!

I’m always eager to try new vegan shampoos and conditioners so if you have any suggestions, please pass them along! Thanks! xo

Get 25% off your entire CREO order by entering coupon code “VBR2011″ when checking out.

Did you know baby products (i.e. shampoos, lotions) often times contain carcinogens and toxic ingredients that can cause infections and various health problems?

Original Sprout is a family-owned company that manufactures vegan, cruelty-free, organic hair care and skin care products for the entire family. All of their products are free of phytoestrogens, soy, parabens, gluten, dioxanes from sulfates, phthalates and formaldehyde. You and your family will sleep more peacefully knowing that your skin and hair care products are worry-free and natural.

Original Sprout products average from $10-20

Products I highly recommend:

Moisturizing & Detangling Children’s Natural Shampoo ($19.50): This sulfate-free formulate is easy on the eyes, moisturizing and contains botanicals and nourishing emollients that help keep your hair healthy and strong. It contains organic rosemary which naturally helps repel lice and insects. I sure wish I used this shampoo when I was a wee lass. I loved the outdoors and the mosquitos loved my “sweet” blood in the summertime. When I have little sprouts of my own, I plan on using these kinds of products. I’m really happy Original Sprout is on the market.

Ultra-Hydrating Children’s Deep Conditioner ($21): This conditioner perfectly complements their shampoo. It calms and soothes dry hair, prevents dandruff and helps prevent tangles. It also has a natural sun protection which can help protect your hair color.

Children & Baby Miracle Detangler ($10.95): This product has saved many a hair on my delicate head. My hair is wavy and fine and thus mega susceptible to frizzies and tangles. Luckily products like these are here to save the day. I love this detangler! This particular detangler is light, moisturizing and frickin’ kicks ass. It does an amazing job at leaving my hair soft, clean and manageable. It works immediately and allows me to comb my hair effortlessly. This is by far the best detangler I have ever used to date. I have become a fan for life.

Get 10% off your first order when you enter the promo code FIRST_ORDER_10_U when checking out. Also, if you spend $35 or more, you get their Miracle Detangler for free! Oh, and there’s free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

Kazam Natural Body Care is a family based business that manufactures natural, organic, handmade health and beauty products like lotions, soaps, natural perfumes, shampoos, conditioners, as well as products for men and babies.
Marjorie Moutari, the founder and CEO of Kazam Natural Body Care not only has a knack for making amazing beauty products but she also has a giving nature and a kind heart. She has conducted workshops and seminars to train African women to make their own beauty products which enable them to gain independence and generate income for their families. Moutari is a also a supporter of the American Cancer Society.

Products I highly recommend:

Beautiful Hair Conditioner ($14): This conditioner couldn’t be more perfect for my hair type. My hair is over-processed, dry and frizzy which calls for intense conditioning. This conditioner is not only vegan and mineral oil and petroleum free, but it smells aromatherapeutically beautiful! It’s packed with plant oils and extracts which moisturize and nourish the hair and scalp. I’ve been using this conditioner every day for a week and I’ve fallen in love with how manageable and smooth my hair is when I use it.

Ingredients: Water, aloe, sopropyl palmitate, cocoa and shea butters, Vitamin E, fennel, sage, yarrow, jojoba, bergamot, geranium, rosewood, ylang ylang and rich moisturizing oils.

I love essential oil perfumes – they don’t contain any synthetics, petrochemicals, parabens, alcohols or chemicals.
Kazam has quite an array of essential oil perfumes to choose from: Aphrodisiac, Angelic Presence, Sweet Dreams, Prosperity, Exotic Pleasure, Sweet Romance and Lavender.

Prosperity Essential Oil Perfume ($18): As much as I wanted to try the Sweet Romance perfume, I figured I could use a lil’ help in the prosperity department (seeing I’m all set with the romance *wink*). When I got this perfume in the mail, it came in a super duper cute ruffley, green organza baggie. The specific essential oils for this perfume were not listed on the bottle or on their website and I made a conscious decision not to inquire about the ingredients because a) it’s probably a secret “prosperity” formula and I know that if I had come up with it, I wouldn’t want to share that info and b) I wanted it to simply be a prosperity perfume for prosperity’s sake. I didn’t want to dissect the formula and spoil the magic. In these rough economic times I’m sure we’re all seeking a little extra prosperity. I’ve been wearing this perfume for about a week and I love it! It smells exactly like my Tinkerbell Perfume from when I was a little girl (how did they do that?) . You know how powerful sense memory can be… It makes me feel young when I’m wearing it and it has a feminine, girlie smell to it. To top everything off, how cool is it to tell my peeps that I’m rcokin’ Prosperity Perfume? It’s cool. As far as beckoning prosperity with my perfumey potion, I believe a week is too soon to tell, so I’ll have to keep you all posted.

LUSH Handmade Cosmetics is such an amazing company which caters to the girliness in all of us that begs to be ravished by arousal overdose. Every single LUSH product, many of which contain mood enhancing essential oils, is unbelievably yummy-smelling to the point where you either want to eat it or call in sick from work so you can spend the whole day sniffin’ your LUSHified skin. Not only are their shampoos, soaps and fizzy bath bombs delectably smelly but they are quite the eye candy. Many of their soaps, bubble bars and bath bombs have glitter, rice rose petals, berries, fruit peels, you name it!

Not only is LUSH lushishly lushful but the company has charitable good will. For instance, they have a “Charity Pot” Hand & Body Cream in which every penny of it’s retail price ($19.95) goes to a charitable fund to support the environment, human and animals rights. This cream smells out-of-this world amazing (ylang ylang, tagettes, gardenia) and it’s so rich and creamy.

Have to say a few words about my personal fave: the Sex Bomb ($5.85). It’s one of their top sellers (shocker… not!) and here’s why: the blissful smell of jasmine, clary sage, and ylang ylang… go on and get your sexy on! When the sex bomb dissolves you’ll have a bath tub full of rice paper rose petals. Que romantico!

Another bath bomb that will rock your world is their Avobath Bomb ($5.65). That’s avo as is avocado. Two wonderful reasons why I love it: it’s moisturizing and it smells refreshing… and it’s green (for us green goddesses who love our planet).

Other Lush products I recommend:

Big Shampoo ($20.95) – Contains sea salt to counteract the effects of soft water which will lead to volumous, big hair

Veganese Conditioner ($8.45) – Lemon scented, heavy on shine, for all hair types.

Wiccy Magic Muscle Massage Bar ($8.95) – Layered with aduki beans (go on, say out loud), it smells spicy and yum yum and it’s a trippy lookin’ bar. I just feel cool using one. It has tingly powers and it’s awesome.
