Oral Essentials All-Natural Toothpaste and Mouthwash Review

I think I’m offially becoming and old lady (no offense, I mean “old” in a goddess-y way), because I literally squeal when I get the opportunity to review oral care products, lol! I review beauty products all the time, so shifting the focus on stuff for my beloved pearlies gets me giddy, ya know? Anyhoo, I recently go to try a couple of all-natural whitening products from Oral Essentials, and I can’t wait to share my thoughts with you guys.

Teeth Whitening Mouthwash for Sensitive Teeth, $12.99 – This yummy minty formula combines lemon and sage essential oils, coconut oil, organic aloe vera juice, and Dead Sea salt. It’s designed to whiten teeth gently and effectively without all the nasty toxic ish found in most conventional mouthwashes. I especially love that it’s alcohol-free (A-frickin’-MEN!) and hence, family-friendly (even the littles can get their swish on). Denatured Alcohol is used as a cheap preservative in most mouthwashes, and it’s used to create the stinging effect most people associate with “clean”… and guess what? You’re not supposed to swallow it because it’s hella BAD for you! This all-natural formula is completely safe, so if you accidentally slurp some down, no need to freak.

Conventional mouthwashes also typically use baking soda or hydrogen peroxide as a whitening agent, which can be harsh, especially if you have sensitive teeth. This formula, however, uses Dead Sea Salt, lemon oil, sage oil and coconut oil to whiten teeth. People often comment on how white my teeth appear (which always boggles my mind, because I don’t actively do anything to them), but I guess I can attribute coconut oil-based toothpastes and mouthwashes for their natural whitening properties (?). I honestly don’t know. And while I don’t think these products drastically alter the whiteness of you teeth, I do think they help on a more subtle level, especially when using them long-term.

Ingredients: Purified Water (Aqua), Xylitol, Organic Aloe Vera Juice (Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice), Dead Sea Salt (Maris Sal), Tulsi / Holy Basil Oil (Ocimum Basilicum), Organic Peppermint Oil (Menta Piperita), Spearmint Leaf Oil (Mentha Viridis), Organic Wintergreen Leaf Oil (Gaultheria Procumbens), Clove Flower Oil (Eugenia Caryophyllus), Zinc Citrate, Coconut Oil (Cocos Nucifera), Lemon Peel Oil (Citrus Medica Limonum), Sage Oil (Salvia Officinalis)

Teeth Whitening Toothpaste for Sensitive Teeth, $11.99 – Regarding the toxic chemicals found in mainstream mouthwash, it’s the same dealio for toothpaste… hydrogen peroxide and/or baking soda cause teeth sensitivity. If you’re looking to whiten your teeth naturally (granted, it may take a bit longer to see results!), ingredients like coconut oil, lemon peel oil, and sage oil have been known to remove stains from teeth and help freshen breath. Whitening aside, this toothpaste taste minty and wonderful, and I especially love that it’s fluoride-free, preservative-free, SLS-free, dye-free, sulfate-free, hydrogen peroxide-free AND baking soda-free toothpaste… only thing that would make it even more magical is if it were actually free, lol!

Again, the formula is super clean and safe for children, too.

So bottom line, I do recommend these all-natural oral care products from Oral Essentials. I’m definitely looking forward to trying their other formulas as well. I know I’m supposed to use these products for consecutive weeks to see potential whitening effects, so if I notice a difference down the line, I’ll be sure to keep you guys posted.

What’s your current favorite all-natural & vegan toothpaste and mouthwash?
