BuddhiBox April 2016

WOOT, it’s BuddhiBox unboxing day! New to BB? It’s catered to peeps who enjoy yoga, healthy living, and mindfulness. This subscription box is set up so that each month you’ll receive 4-6 thoughtfully curated products (samples and full sized items) from ethically-sourced and socially conscious companies. BuddhiBox also chooses a charity to donate proceeds to each month (this month = Purple Dot Project).

There are different subscription options that vary in price and get cheaper with duration, but the low commitment month-to-month option is $32.95/month. Btw, you can peep my past BuddhiBox reviews here.

This month’s goodie box, which I’ll delve into in just a bit, also came with a BuddhiBox info card with an inspirational Alberto Villoldo Ph. D. quote on the back, a recipe for Katie Silcox’s Golden Mama Milk (not vegan but veganizable), a recipe for Magical De-Bloat Potion, and an instructional card for Bajasana a.k.a. Crow Pose – love saving these!

April’s BuddhiBox featuring all Ayurvedic items included:

NeeluKaur Amrit Ayurvedic Oil Blend,* $30 – Amrit “Nectar of the Divine” is an organic Ayurvedic blend of bergamot, natural vanilla, rosewood, patchouli, mandarin, amyris, rose and jojoba oils. You guys, it smells so friggin’ good – fruity, floral, and woodsy with strong vanilla undertones. I’m a HUGE vanilla freak so mega score! Btw, love rollerball perfumes that you can slip into your purse or gym bag (← ha, that’s me pretending I work out). 😉

Blend Bee Calm My Dosha Tea,* $7 – This teas is intended to help “release stress and and unfray nerves.” Guess what, y’all… this mamacitas’s nerves have been frizzle-frazzificated times 12, especially these past two weeks (project deadlines, kiddos, PMS, you name it). I’m finally getting around to winding down and finding pockets of “me time.” I’ve been enjoying this tasty, caffeine-free Ayurvedic blend which is made with organic spices and herbs to entice the senses for all three doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha). This baggie makes 7 cups of tea and and comes with a reusable muslin tea bag.

Wellness by Helen Ayurvedic Herbal Face Cleanser, $15 – This is a grainy, scrubby cleanser. I think you could use this as a mask, too. It’s made with a blend of Ayurvedic ingredients including Manjistha, Orange and Besan which remove dirt and toxins while cleansing. You can use water, milk (non-dairy), or oil (my personal preference) to mix the magic.

SKINYOGA Ayurvedic Coffee Scrub,* $15 – This wins the prize for most unique packaging! Coffee scrubs are my jam… they can help reduce the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks, and no matter how perfect you think some people are, we ALL have that ish. What I especially like about this blend is that it’s not oily or slick, and it’s super easy to clean off.  Gah, it smells SOOOOO good, too!

Almond Cacao NamasBar,* $4 – My mini me (age 3.75) commandeered this bar the second I unwrapped it. #momlife Luckily, homeboy was willing to let me have a bite or two. Verdict: YUM. It has the appearance of a mega healthy, fruit & nut bar, but it had some lovely surprise chocolatey chunks. That’s how I personally like to do healthy, with a bit of chocolate! This bar is organic, vegan, non-GMO and gluten-free. Also, for each bar purchased, NamasBar donates a meal to a child in need and helps funds yoga programs for youth in local communities.

Overall impression: As always, this box has insane value – $71 worth of goodies, woweeeee!! My faves of the bunch include the NamasBar, the dosha tea, and Ayurvedic essential oil blend. Every single item in this box was vegan (yahoooooo!!) and Ayurvedic – BuddhiBox gets mad props for curating such a perfect and complementary box of relaxing and spiritually enhancing goodies.

I highly recommend giving BuddhiBox a try – quality mindful products, amazing value. It would make a great gift for a friend, loved one, or yourself! They also have a fantastic online shop if there’s a specific item you’ve got your eye on.

What do you guys think of BuddhiBox?

Box was sent to me for consideration. Opinions are my own.
