Vegan Cuts April 2016

April’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box included:

Enfusia Coriander and Rosewood Fizz & Foam Bath Bomb, $2.50 – This bath bomb has a super sexy, earthy floral vibe going on, and I like the hot pink speckles. I always share my bath bombs with my 3-year-old, because he thinks they’re pretty magical (and he’s right… sans the duds with zero fizzification). This bath bomb is made without phthalates, silicon, SLS, or parabens, making it a safer option for bath time fun and/or relaxation.

Eco Lips Bee Free Lip Balm in Sweet Mint, $3.49 – In a world of 175,345 lip balm flavors, I almost always opt for mint when given the option (read: score!). I tried a fruiter flavor from Eco Lips and awhile back, and it wasn’t quite for me (smelled a bit artificial), but this minty flavor is spot on. I love how it simply contains nourishing butters, oils, waxes, and essential oils. It’s also made in the USA – yay!

Eco Lips lip balm

Cocokind Organic Facial Repair Serum,* $14 – This is an oil-based serum/moisturizer, and it’s made with only 3 ingredients – organic avocado oil, coconut oil, and rosehip seed oil. Coconut oil does sometimes break me out, so I’ll have to give this a trial run before committing. Coconut oil can also solidify in cooler temps (obvs not a prob during these toasty months) – not a big deal but worth noting.

Joshik Polish in “254,”$12 – Yay, this shade is a lovely berry/beet pink, and I featured it for this week’s Mani Monday – go peep it here! It’s 5-free, made in the USA and it’s of course, vegan and cruelty-free.

Goddess Garden Facial Sunscreen,* $5 – Ooh, I’m feeling this! I have a ton of body SPF but not so many facial ones. I love that this sunscreen is made with organic ingredients and that it doesn’t leave any thick white residue. It actually has a clay coloring to it, out of the tube, and it blends without a trace. It also has a subtle floral scent that I really like.

Routine Natural Deodorant, $2 – This clay-based deodorant smells like heaven (earthy, woodsy, sweet, floral) – SO gorg! I’m actually not sure which scent is is… subscribers either got lavender lovlieness, spicy earth goodness, or patchouli and vanilla. I’m guessing I have patchouli and vanilla? I’ve tried Routine in the past and was impressed with their formula. This particular sample seemed a bit liquidy/runny, but I was still able to apply it pretty easily. I would definitely but a full size version of this deodoro. Just wish I could confirm which scent this was as there was no label on it.

Marrakesh Endz Split End Mender, $6 – This product is designed to tame frizzies, split ends, and help with static control. Dang, this smells GOOD! Just checked the ingredients though and it has some unnatural additives that I’m trying to steer clear of like PEG-40, parfum, C13-14 isoparaffin… I’m not a purist by any means when it comes to green beauty, but I like to avoid synthetics and chemicals whenever I can. A+ packaging, though. 🙂

Overall impression: There’s a lot of bang for the buck in this month’s beauty box – there were seven items, and everything together was valued at $44! It was a lovely mix of familiar faves and new-to-me brands! Top picks from this month’s box include the pretty pink nail polish, facial sunscreen, facial serum, and clay-based deodorant. Good, good stuff.
