petit vour beauty box february 2016

Happy Petit Vour Unboxing Day! February’s PV beauty box has a “oh, it’s love” V-Day theme (pinks, reds, hearts – absolutely LOVE it!!), and all the items, as always are squeaky clean and non-toxic which I adore! If you’re new to Petit Vour, it’s a monthly subscription box that comes loaded with samples (including full-sized ones) from fancy, vegan, cruelty-free, and non-toxic brands. You can peep all my previous PV box reviews here. This goodie box is only $15 a month (HELLA good deal, especially considering this month’s box is valued at $40!) and includes free shipping in the U.S. ($23 for Canada).

You’ll also be able to earn points in their shop (product links within this post) with every purchase, review, and friend rec. Compassionate and affordable—pretty sweet, right?

Before I dig in, can we take a sec to admire the GORGEOUS art on the back of the PV info card? The artist is Mia Charro, and every month she creates these stunning, frameble images. This heart + love birds one is my fave to date!

February’s Petit Vour Beauty Box included the following cruelty-free goodies:

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Booster Serum,* $19 – When I took the lil’ foil seal off of this, product started oozing out quickly and I panicked, thinking, “I need to smear this on mah face right NAO.” Luckily. I had a semi freshly washed face with no makeup on, so needless to say, I tried this out immediately! O.m.g. I LOVE it! Not sure if I would spend $75 for a full size, but dang, if I benjamins to spare, I’ll be buyin’ it like crazy. It’s an ultra-light gel serum packed with fruit stem cells, Vitamin C, and a resveratrol-rich grapeseed formula to help boost and enhance skin tone and texture. I’ve always found Juice Beauty’s skincare to be highly effective, and as a 30-something, I’m hoping this stuff can work some magic!

Graydon Hair Smoothie Cleansing Conditioner & Detangler, $2.50 – Having vibrant pink locks means I have to be hella chill when it comes to hair products. Heck, I barely wash my hair (dry shampoo is my savior), and when I do cleanse or condition, I’m very particular and seek out products that suuuuuper squeaky clean (chemicals don’t often play nice with colored hairsies). This formula contains phyto-nutrient ingredients including broccoli seed oil and essential oils of parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme that stimulate healthy hair growth. It’s got a fresh, herbal scent – It kind of reminds me of a Ricola. I will most likely be using this as a detangler on my ends since my mop is like one giant-ass knot when wet.

Christy Organics Trance Perfume,* $5.25 – This completely natural and organic perfume/essential oil blend of jasmine, ylang ylang, rose, cedar wood, bergamot, and vanilla in a jojoba base is intoxicating! I’ve tried a ton of vegan perfumes over the years, and this has got to be up there as one of my faves. I’m so bummed I can’t have you guys scratch and sniff the screen… it’s yummy, sweet, floral, romantic… reminds me of spring and love and baby bunnies and sunshine and happiness… and, well, everything lovely.

HAN Skin Care Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Taupey Plum, $13 – This shade is more of a bronzey gold brown than taupey plum (swatched below), but it’s absolutely gorgeous and I’m lovin’ the shimmer. It has a rice powder base with anti-aging ingredients like argan oil and tea extracts, and antioxidant-rich, plant derived colors. It applies and blends effortlessly, and you can use your finger or a brush.

Overall impression: While this month’s box seems like it had mostly littles in the mix, it sure did pack a punch and the value ($40) is, as always, pretty impressive. I’ll be getting lots of use out of each item, and there’s no doubt that the Christy Organics perfume oil is goin’ on my wish list. The Juice Beauty serum was pretty remarkable, too! Gah, this month’s box was a hit!

If you like what you see, you should consider hooking yourself up with a Petit Vour subscription! Also, you can buy products you love directly from PV’s online store. Customers (even non-subscribers) receive 20% back in PV Points with every shop purchase. It’s like a constant 20% discount and when you combine that with the free shipping on all orders $50+… it’s an insane deal. xx
