December 2015 MyKindBox

I know it’s January and all, but I’m still basking in the glory of holiday goodies. And today, I wanna spotlight the vegan beauty products that arrived in December’s MyKindBox. Btw, how cute is their seasonal packaging and holiday card? Kitties + hugs = gushy, warm fuzzy wuzzies. 🙂

If you’re new to MyKindBox, it’s a vegan and cruelty-free monthly subscription beauty box that contains 5-7 beauty products including a mix of full size and deluxe samples of makeup and skincare. The cost is $29/month with free shipping, which is a pretty sweet deal.

December’s MyKindBox included:

100% Pure Nail Polish in Jam: Ha, 100% Pure nail polish IS my jam, so rockin’ the shade Jam will be totes apropos. Stoked to have this shade because red polishes are classy AF and they look good on everybody… all the time. I’m also a big fan of 100% Pure’s vegan, cruelty-free, and non-toxic formula (free of formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, camphor, and formaldehyde resin). Healthy pretty nails FTW!

e.l.f. Defining Eye Brush: This angled brush is designed to contour the crease of the eyelid and underneath the brow bone for some extra oomph. Now I have to say, I’ve been #blessed to have quite a few high quality, cruelty-free & vegan makeup brush sets, so the bar for brushtasticness is somewhat high. I appreciate e.l.f.’s price point (I think this brush is only $1), but this particular brush is not quite doing it for me. I personally prefer a stiffer contour brush, but this will definitely be a handy backup.

Giovanni facial cleanser, scrub, and moisturizer: I have a soft spot for Giovanni because they’re one of the first vegan-friendly beauty brands I discovered when I started VBR. When they debuted their hair care line at Target back in the day I almost lost my sh*t! This is my first time trying their D:tox trio of facial skincare goodies with antioxidants and activated charcoal, so I was pumped to give ’em a whirl. All three products complement each other really well, and the wash and scrub and surprisingly gentle. This lotion is light and non-greasy and it has a pleasant clean scent.

Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Hand Cream: Gah, LOVE this scent so much (and have for many years)! I’m a citrus nut and this is a gorgeous blend of juicy blood orange, mandarin, sweet orange with subtle strawberry and raspberry notes. It’s all-natural, yummy-smelling, and nice and thick for thirsty hands.

Overall impression – This is my second time trying MyKindBox and I’m just as impressed with this one as I was with their first – love the variety of products, and I was stoked to see two of my favorite brands – Pacifica and 100% Pure – make an appearance.
