December 2015 Vegan Cuts beauty box

Y’all it’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box reveal day, and this month’s box was definitely a holiday treat! If this is the first time you’re hearing about this rad subscription service, it’s a monthly beauty box ($19.95/month with free shipping) that delivers 4-7 vegan and cruelty-free items (ranging from unique cosmetics to luxurious skincare) right to your doorstep. It’s the easiest way to discover cruelty-free brands without committing to full-size products or prices. You can sign up for this beauty box here. You can also peep my past Vegan Cuts Beauty Box reviews here.

December’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box included 6 vegan items (3 full-size!):

Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques “Sweet Sixteen” Blush, $14 – This full-size soft and subtle pressed cheek color was also in the November 2015 LaRitzy box, so I now have 2 of these babies, and I’m not complaining at all. It’s a really pretty neutral pink and it’s made with nourishing ingredients like orange peel wax, jojoba, broccoli seed, and zinc (for sun protection). I personally love the size of this blush. It’s on the smaller side, making it convenient for travel… also just nice to cut down on the bulk, especially when it comes to makeup bags.

Acure Organics Cell Stimulation Facial Mask*, $7 – I’m an argan oil fanatic. My hubby is always making fun of me because argan sounds like a planet from a scifi show. Anyhoo, Acure is one of my über fave vegan-friendly skincare lines (they use argan oil in pretty much everything). This vegan face mask is especially fab because alongside argan stem cells, it has Chlorella Growth Factor (um, FANCY), French Green Clay, CoQ10, and Seabuckthorn Oil. We’re talkin’ some serious cell repair, people.

Crazy Rumors Cinnamon Bun Lip Balm*, $3.50 – When I first started VBR, one of the vegan beauty brands I was eager to share with the world was Crazy Rumors. Their lip balm flavors are all the things I like to cram down my pie hole: ice cream, cake, gingerbread, coffee, tea… needless to say, this Cinnamon Bun one smells deliciously and sweet (and you can enjoy the the cinnamon bun yum-yums without worrying about it heading straight for your ass. i.e. it’s calorie-free). Do you guys see the cute kiddie paws in the background of my pic? That’s my baby boy – clearly a fan of Vegan Cuts, too. 🙂

Auromère Ayurvedic Toothpaste, $1 – Man, so many of these products are taking me back to my early VBR days. I don’t know if you guys have noticed, but I’m seriously trying to transition my beauty products to all-natural and non-toxic – there are just way too many options not to. Toothpaste is a biggie for me – I like to use natural ones that are reasonably priced, a teensy foamy (not necessary, though), with super pure ingredients. This one fits the bill, y’all, and it tastes pretty great.

Demes Natural Products Makeup Cleansing Oil & Makeup Remover, $6 – I’m a die-hard believer in the oil cleansing method (OCM). It’s a really simple concept: oil gets rid of oil. This blend of olive and castor oil with essential oils removes makeup and gently cleanses while leaving your skin hella soft and supple. I know rubbing oil on your face sounds counterintuitive, but it can actually help prevent acne. Check out my OCM post that I wrote earlier this year – I’m a HUUUGE fan.

Concrete Minerals Matte Eyeshadow in Smut*, $8 – I have to be honest, when I first opened this up, it looked like a murky brown shade and I wasn’t feeling it at all. Then I swatched it on my hand, and BOOM – magic!!! It’s f*cking GORGEOUS! Don’t judge a book by its cover (er, shadow by it’s lid?), y’all! From CM’s website: “It’s a Dirty silver with pink-purple undertones. It’s impossible to get the beauty of this incredible color to show-through in photos. “Smut” seems to be an instant favorite of anyone who even glances at it! This shadow looks just as good on as it does in the jar (and it looks reeeeally good in the jar) and compliments every color eye!” I agree with everything excerpt I totally think it looks deceiving in the jar.

Overall impression: Six items is a lot for any beauty box – and it was a lovely mix of skin care, teef stuffs, and makeup—all natural and non-toxic to boot! Box faves: Crazy Rumors lip balm, Acure Organics facial mask, and Concrete Minerals eye shadow. I will be using everything in this box (which is not always the case with subby boxes), so I consider it a smashing success. Ooh, and this month’s goodies are valued around $40!
