The Vegan Kind Beauty Box

I feel like every week I’m like, “You guyyyys, there’s yet ANOTHER vegan beauty box“… well, guess what folks? There IS another one!! This one, The Vegan Kind Beauty Box (TVK), hails from the U.K., and I’m especially pumped about it because I’m not too familiar with beauty brands from across the pond – evvverything in this box is pretty new and exciting to me. This quarterly subscription box deliver 5-8 full and sample size vegan and cruelty-free beauty products for £15 (~$23) every 3 months + £3.15 UK P&P or £9 (~$14) Worldwide P&P (postage and packaging). OK, let’s peep what’s inside!

The latest beauty box from The Vegan Kind included 5 vegan items (4 full-size!):

B. All Lengthening, Defining, and Volumising Waterproof Mascara – I only know of a few vegan waterproof mascaras, so I was excited to try this new-to-me brand. The info card says this mascara is available at Superdrug which I’m guessing is similar to a Walgreens or Target in the U.S. (U.K. peeps, please correct me if I’m wrong). I have a hunch this is a pretty accessible and mainstream brand (perhaps similar to e.l.f.). Again, just a guess. Anyhoo, I actually really like this mascara. It’s easy to apply and it provides decent coverage (perfect for a natural, daytime look) – not as oomphy as Too Faced’s Better Than Sex but way more defining than probably 50% of the vegan mascaras I’ve tried.

B. All Mascara

PHB Ethical Beauty Eyeliner – This all-natural and organic eyeliner is perfect for sensitive eyes – AMEN. Honestly, I feel like beauty products that are used in such close proximity to the ol’ eyeballs, especially on your waterline, ought to be as natural as possible… I mean, eyeliner pretty much winds up in your eye throughout the day, and you don’t want nasties sneaking into your system like that.

This eyeliner is free from nano particles, parabens, bismuth oxychloride, talc, formaldehyde, mineral oils, fillers, gluten, fragrance, preservatives & GM ingredients – HOLLA! It’s smooth, waterproof, long-lasting, and easy to apply. My delicate peepers are grateful.

Dr. Organic Dead Sea Minerals Mud Mask – Mud masks are my jam, and this one is extra fancy with its anti-aging bio-plasma (say what?). From their website: “On the surface it is an organic pore cleansing face mask, deep down it is a bioactive deeply replenishing face-lift.” Um, yassss. I’ve used it a couple times, and my skin always feels über clean and fresh afterward. I dig it.

Faith in Nature Organic Makeup Remover Wipes – 2015 was sort of the year of makeup wipes for me. I’ve been hooked on the ones by Pacifica, but I’ve yet to meet a face wipe I didn’t like. I know a lot of people have sensitivities to facial wipes, so I don’t know how these compare to other brands in that regard because my skin has never had a negative reaction. I used these just last night at 1 am after “Netflixing and chilling” with my mister (we’re currently binge-watching The Americans), and they worked like a charm – even on my otherwise stubborn eye makeup. 🙂

TeaBox Detox Tea samples – I think this tea is designed to help clear and detox your skin, but since I’m still breastfeeding, I’m holding off on non-herbal blends. I’m saving these for later, though, as they’ve made me very curious. Love the packaging, too!

Overall impression: This was a lovely mix of makeup, skincare, and tea. I wasn’t familiar with any of these brands, so I’m mega stoked I got to try some new stuff! My faves were the mud mask and eyeliner, but everything was pretty frickin’ awesome.
