DIY Bug Repellant

diy bug spray

When I was a wee tot, my mama always told me I had sweet blood because insects liked to bite the sh*t out me… even to this day, I’m a bug magnet, and it sucks. You know what sucks even more? Those pesky betches aren’t usin’ my blood for food, they’re using it to make babies (GASP!) – insect babies that are gonna bite me when they are born. Waaaaaah. 🙁

From WebMD: “It’s not dinner they’re sucking out of you. Female mosquitoes — males do not bite people — need human blood to develop fertile eggs.” GRODY TO THE MAX. I feel violated… doesn’t that count as non-consensual intermingling? I’m not here to make mosquito babies, na mean!?

Anyhoo, enough of my ranting, it’s time to get proactive! Skip the chemical store-bought bug spray and make your own easy-peasy non-toxic bug repellant instead! And trust me, it works!

DIY Bug Repellant

  • 2 tablespoons witch hazel
  • 2 tablespoons jojoba oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon vitamin e oil (natural preservative)
  • 50 drops eucalyptus oil
  • 15 drops lavender oil
  • 15 drops citronella oil

Combine all ingredients in a 4-oz. spray bottle, shake, and apply before meeting those stinkers head-on.
