best vegan sunscreen

Yahoooooo, summer is just around the corner! The days are getting longer and sunshinier, so you betta believe I’m whippin’ out my gigantor floppy hats, oversized shades, and shellacking SPF up the ass (not literally). 😉 Sunscreen is  MUST at all times of the year, but especially during these hotter months. Too much sun = premature fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots… no thanky!

While I’m a huge proponent of sunscreen, I’m only down with the all-natural ones that aren’t loaded with crap (a.k.a. toxic chemicals and artificial ingredients). I wanted to highlight some of my faves, so here ya go!

Best Vegan & Cruelty-Free Sunscreens

Coola, $32 – LOVE spritzy sunscreens (mess-free & easy to apply)! This one by Coola is clear, natural, unscented, water-resistant, and it offers broad spectrum SPF 50 protection. It’s also designed to hydrate skin with 70%+ certified organic ingredients like cucumber, algae, and strawberry extracts.

Derma e Antioxidant Natural Sunscreen SPF 30 Oil-Free Face Lotion, $19 – This clear, lightweight, non-greasy, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, GMO-free and nanoparticle-free zinc oxide-based formula (*takes a deep brerath*) provides safe, chemical-free broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. It’s also fortified with antioxidants for an anti-aging boost.

Jersey Shore Sunscreen SPF 30, $19 – This broad spectrum, non-nano zinc oxide sunscreen is Top Rated and Recommended by EWG.org and Livestrong.com for being non-toxic and safe. It’s made with all-natural, organic, and non-GMO ingredients and is petrochemical-free, fragrance-free, cruelty-free, biodegradable, gluten-free, and Earth-friendly.

Kiss My Face Sensitive Side 3 in 1 SPF 30 Sunscreen, $12.95 – This water-resistant, hydrating, broad spectrum sunscreen packs a punch with anti-aging rockstar ingredients like oat protein, betaglucans, green tea, and carrot extract.

Mychelle Sun Shield, $17 – This unscented, environmentally-safe, full spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen uses translucent zinc and titanium dioxide to provide a safe alternative to harsh chemical sunscreens. It also contains soothing aloe and vitamin e to help sooth sun-kissed skin.

Suntegrity SPF 30 Natural Mineral Sunscreen, $24 – This USA-made, TSA-friendly, broad-spectrum sunscreen is free of harsh chemicals like parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol, mineral oil, synthetic dyes, sulfates, nanoparticles and chemical UV absorbers. It’s non-greasy, easy to apply, loaded with antioxidants (green tea extract, cucumber extract, and pomegranate seed oil), and has a lovely citrusy scent.

And if you’re looking to make your own sunscreen from scratch? It’s super easy – check out my recipe here!
