I ♥ shea. It’s a superbly moisturizing, anti-aging nut butter with endless healing properties. It contains Vitamins A & E, which help treat skin allergies, insect bites, sunburns, etc. and it has natural SPF (6-10). Yep folks, that’s why I’m obsessed with smearing this magical ish all ovah my bod.
Lately I’ve been digging the brand Shea Yeleen for all my shea buttery needs. They make high quality, unrefined shea butter soaps, body balms, lip balms, and body butters. And they have a rad mission to promote sustainable economic development in rural sub-Saharan Africa, empower and train women-owned shea butter cooperatives, and educate consumers in the U.S. about natural beauty care products and fair trade. *insert thumbs up emoticon* Talk about a company doing good in this world!
My Shea Yeleen faves:
Lavender Honeysuckle Body Butter, $19 – As much as I love lavender, it tends to be a bit overpowering in beauty products. This body butter, however, takes a more subtle approach. It’s actually a little more honeysuckley when I really get my whiff on… it’s perfect. It smells gorrrrgeous (nothing artificial, just pure essential oils), and it’s mega moisturizing. It also has a sort of whipped icing texture that I’m all about. Anything that resembles icing automatically has a piece of my heart. 😉
Unscented Shea Body Balm, $19 – Pure shea is truly magic. Honestly, I use this stuff for everything – baby booties, stretch marks, scars, crusty dry elbows, split ends… magic, ‘freals!
Lemongrass Peppermint Shea Butter Soap, $5.50 – Two of my favorite scents in one moisturizing bar of soap… not much more to say. Me gusta. Mega mucho.
Do you love shea butter as much as I do?
