A bit of background on cork:

The cork forest is a unique ecosystem and is home to many species. Few countries produce cork, and Portugal is the world’s leader (where these beautiful purses are manufactured). As a national protected ecosystem, it’s against the law to cut down cork oak trees, and cork harvesting is promoted. Once planted, the tree needs to mature for 40 years before removing the first cork. From then on, the cork is harvested every 9 years which promotes the tree’s vitality and longevity. Who knew?

Cork is eco-friendly, vegan, lightweight, and waterproof. It’s also hella durable and easy to care for – just clean it with a soft damp cloth (HOLLA!). All you eco babes need to look into cork STAT – you’d be surprised at how hip and fashion forward many of the styles are. xx

What’s your favorite eco-friendly fashion accessory?
