new zealand bans animal testing

I’m super duper excited to share the news that the government of New Zealand is about to ban animal testing for “finished cosmetic products and their ingredients.” That’s HUGE!!!

The amendment to the Animal Welfare Amendment Bill passed a debate phase on Tuesday and is expected to be become law in a matter of weeks.

Did you know that New Zealand isn’t the first country to ban cosmetics animal testing? The European Union, Israel, India and the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo have nixed this archaic practice as well. Australia, Brazil, Canada, Taiwan, and the United States are all considering similar legislative bans, too. **fingers crosses**

If you’re looking to buy products that haven’t been tested on animals, be sure to peep Vegan Beauty Review’s lists of vegan and cruelty-free brands.
