I have been on a crazy lipstick kick lately. My heart reels when I find vegan, all-natural formulas that pack a punch, especially if they’re pink or red!
In case you’re wondering which ingredients in lipsticks could be considered non-vegan, most conventional lip colors contain ick nasties like carmine (aka crushed insects… BLECH, also commonly listed as Crimson Lake, Cochineal, Natural Red 4, C.I. 75470 or E120), beeswax (commonly listed cera alba), and tallow (animal fat), to name a few. See? Vegan lippies are where it’s at!
In my quest to discover more natural vegan lipsticks, I came across a lovely company called Silk Naturals. They have have a ton of vegan-friendly cosmetics that are all natural, handmade, mega affordable ($4.50-6), cruelty-free, and totally swoon-worthy. Peep these adorable lipsticks, y’all!
The shades from left to right:
Vroom! is a classic race car, fire engine, bright vivid red with full coverage and no shimmer. It’s super moisturizing, richly pigmented, and has a lovely subtle vanilla scent. Heads up: this is a long lasting formula (amen!) that may stain your lips.
Cahoots is a sheer sparkly plummy pink. My guess is that it would complement most if not all skin tones. It’s very delicate, feminine, and perfect for everyday wear.
Nourish is a creamy lip conditioner with shea butter and acai sterols. You can layer it or use it by itself. It has a really nice glossy finish.
Pose is a bright, creamy rosy pink. All of these happy colors are perfect for spring!
Canoodle is a plummy neutral. It’s one of Silk Naturals’ Velvet Matte Lipsticks and is packed with pigment and nourishing oils like jojoba and meadowfoam. It’s versatile, too! You can rock this as a cream blush, shadow, etc.
Which vegan lipstick are you currently gaga for?
