Hey, beautiful vegan mamas-to-be! I’m sure you’re probably already taking your daily prenatals, but just in case you’re having a hard time finding a vegan version of these, I wanted to recommend a few brands to make things a bit easier.

Taking prenatal vitamins is a key way to help cover any nutritional gaps in your diet. Their folic acid, iron, iodine, and calcium content are especially important. A lot of non-vegan vitamin brands contain animal-derived ingredients such as fish oil, gelatin, and D3. Since I’m expecting my second monchichi in January (and this ain’t my first rodeo), I’ve had the opportunity to try out most of these brands of prenatals listed below. My faves as marked with and “*”, although I have no doubt in my mind that they are all fantastic!

Perhaps you’re looking at a different product? It doesn’t contain those ingredients and it’s even marked “vegan” on the packaging.

  2. Saniel says:

Still no vegan chewable or gummy (no gelatin) on the market yet. I just remember taking them and feeling like I was swallowing a big horse pill. One day!

  3. Sarah S. says:

I used the DEVA ones! My daughter is *perfect* so I plan to use them with my next pregnancy 🙂

  4. Hi Sunny! I am not expecting a little one but I do appreciate the post to see the different vegan vitamin brands on the market. I am very happy with DEVA, I currently take their multivitamin and B12 supplement. Thank you for the post! xo

  5. Ari says:

I thought you might like to know that synthetic folic acid found in all of the prenatal vitamins above, as well as pretty much like 99% of multivitamins on the market that have it, has direct links to cancer and other health concerns. The first two links I posted below give more info about folic acid, and the last link is to a vegan cruelty-free prenatal vitamin made without synthetic folic acid. As a person wanting to go to med school, I’m interested in this stuff, so I’m not getting paid to say this stuff, just so you know. 🙂
