One of my new year’s resolutions is to be more organized… and this applies to my makeup, too. If you saw my makeup bag, you’d cringe because it’s a complete disorderly mess. In fact, I probably waste so much time every morning just trying to hunt down specific makeup brushes, shadows, lippies, etc. Lately though, I’ve been using Jane’s Iredale’s Glamour Eye & Lip Palette ($75) for pretty much everything. It’s totable, compact, it comes with a mirror and lip brush, and it has a ton of gorgeous shades to fit my every whimsical mood.

This palette comes with 15 PurePressed Eye Shadows, ten PureMoist Lipsticks, and five PureGloss Lip Glosses, with a rose gold Lip Brush for precise application.

PurePressed Eye Shadow

  • Lights: Oyster, Wink, Hush, Rose Gold, Dreamy Pink
  • Smoky: Platinum, Cappuccino, Supernova, Merlot, Double Espresso
  • Brights: Magic, Caribbean, Violet Eyes, Blue Hour, Red Carpet

PureMoist Lipstick

  • Neutrals: Sarah, Kaylee
  • Pinks and Corals: Liz, Lucy, Madison, Abigail, Rikki
  • Reds and Mauves: Naomi, Margi, Theresa

PureGloss Lip Gloss

  • Shimmering: Snow Berry, Beach Plum, Pink Candy
  • Sheer: Bellini, Crabapple

To die for, right? All the shadows are stunning, highly pigmented, and easy to apply! The glosses and lipsticks are beautiful, too. They’re so versatile, mix-and-matchable, and they feel lovely on my lips.

Oh and ladies, make sure to get your hands on Jane Iredale’s Snappy Brush Wand, $30. It’s mad bomb! The Snappy Brush Wand has 3 interchangeable magnetic brushes (full-sized), and it fits easily into even the smallest clutch or travel bag for touch-ups on the go. It’s sooooo nice to have all the 3 of these brushes in 1—it’s convenient, time-saving, and frickin’ GENIUS!

The Supernova eyeshadow shade contains carmine : ( when you click the vegan sidebar, there’s a list of all the shades that aren’t vegan.

  2. Chrissy says:

How can JI say they’re cruetly free when most of their brushes are goat and pony hair?

Sure, they can claim its an aftermarket byproduct or whatever but we can’t really be sure can we?

Sigma and Lise Watier are kind of sketchy in that area too…..

High-end vegan palettes with more than 4 shades are easily the #1 hardest makeup item for me to find right now. Tarte has a couple of quads but I was super bummed when they just recently stopped making the “Wild at Heart” palette. Stila had some okay options but they’re no longer cruelty free. Urban Decay’s “vegan palette” is no longer in production either. Okay, so granted Too Faced has one but it’s completely made of mattes and sorry but those type of shades paired with my “glowy” completion really just aren’t flattering at all.

It’s like EVERY large palette has carmine in it, what gives? Elf is the only brand I can find with any real options, and though I respect that that brand is a lot of bang for the buck there’s nothing quite as impressive or luxurious as the feel of a big fancy makeup palette. Sorry to turn this into a rant but I really hope that cosmetics companies start realizing that you can make pretty rosy-toned pressed powders without harming animals, or if they already are I’d love to know where I can buy them!

Oh it’s so sad and some of those colors include carmine and beeswax! 🙁

    • Sunny says:

I double checked the ingredients on the packaging for this product, and everything appears to be vegan.

    • Sarah S. says:

Yeah, I checked out this palette, too, and I could swear there was carmine 🙁 The website might list different ingredients that the packaging does not, though. I’ve had that happen before – a lot of times the ingredients listed on the website aren’t really for a specific product.
