My Konjac Sponge is a Leaping Bunny certified vegan and cruelty-free company that makes sponges out of (take a guess!) konjac! The kind peeps at My Konjac Sponge hooked me up with some samples for review. Find out what the dealio with konjac is, and then be sure to enter the giveaway at the bottom of this post!
First thing’s first – WTF is konjac?
All’s I know is that konjak is the main ingredient in Sophie’s Kitchen faux shrimp (and a bunch of other vegan faux seafood… so I’m already a big fan!). After a bit of research, I learned that it comes from a potato-like plant in Asia and has been used for over 1500 years (why does all the good sh*t take thousands of years to make its way to the US?) These sponges are made from konjac potatoes which are rich in vitamins and minerals. Konjac sponges are super gentle, all-natural, antibacterial, and 100% biodegradable.
My Konjac Sponges available:
Face Sponge with Added Volcanic Scoria (pink) – This one is great for all skin types. This sponge has added Scoria which contains rich natural minerals and Alkalis that help purify and refresh skin.
Face Sponge with Bamboo Charcoal (gray) – This one is great for sensitive and/or acne-prone skin . The added bamboo charcoal contains activated carbon which helps fight bacteria (and keeps zits at bay) ←dog bless America!
Pure Konjac Body Sponge (white) – This one is suitable for all skin types (including sensitive baby skin), and it helps de-gunk skin and promote blood circulation.
My take away: These sponges are gentle and effective, and I loooove how they are natural and biodegradable – when you’re ready to ditch your sponge, just bury in the ground! Don’t be thrown off by the texture. It’s spongey, rubbery, and moist – kind of fun to poke at and squish around. You’re gonna love the way your skin feels after massaging it with these vegetable-based sponges—and after using them regularly, you’re gonna be like, “I need 20 of these!”
Let me help you try get one of those 20 for free! See contest deets below!
