Towane thinks Andalou Naturals tinted BB cream looks good on his mama.

andalou naturals

I’ve been diggin’ on Andalou Naturals skin care lately. Their products incorporate fancy fruit stem cell science which helps renews skin at the cellular level (geeking out, VBR-style), fights wrinks, and gives you that va-va-voomy glow. Since BB creams are all the rage, I HAD to review theirs to see how they compare to my current fave BB by derma e.

The deets:

All-in-One Beauty Balm Sheer Tint with SPF 30, $19.95:

  • Contains age-defying fruit stem cell science
  • Has a super light, natural mineral-tint hint of color (a bit orange-y, but when blended, it adapts to most light-medium skin tones)
  • Smells like oranges!
  • Mega moisturizing (great for peeps with dry, crusty-ass skin like me)
  • Can be worn alone or under make-up
  • Contains chemical-free UVA/UVB protection
  • Nanoparticle Free

I don’t recommend wearing this in place of foundation (the coverage is too light), but it works well as a base/tinted moisturizer.

Oil Control Beauty Balm Un-Tinted with SPF 30, $19.95:

  • Contains age-defying fruit stem cell science
  • Un-tinted mattifying formula
  • Can be worn alone or under make-up
  • Chemical-free UVA/UVB protection
  • Nanoparticle Free
  • Won’t clog pores

It does have a slight white-ish residue (which is the case with most natural, zinc-based SPFs), so I recommend blending this in with a bit of your favorite vegan liquid foundation (problem solved).

Takeaway: With ingredients like 20% zinc oxide SPF, fruit stem cells, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and a slew of other anti-oxidants-rich ingredients, this product truly stands out in the world of BB creams. The coverage is much lighter than the one I reviewed by derma e, but it’s mega rich and moisturizing, so I’ll definitely continue to rock it (but will apply it with a bit of foundation for fuller coverage).
