It’s no secret that I’m a sugarholic (I have to have something sweet after shoveling savory ish in mah face—and it’s gotten out of control)! If you peep my Instagram feed, it’s flooded with the hashtag #sugarfiend. I’ve decided that I’m going to detox from sugar for at least 21 days with the goal of ridding all processed sugars from my diet for good! Tiffany from CrueltyFreeMoms.com is taking the challenge with me, and I invite you to join us as we kick sugar’s sweet (and Satanic) ass!
What: SUGAR DETOX
Why: Did you know studies have shown sugar to be more addictive that cocaine?! Sugar also feeds cancer cells, promotes jiggly belly rolls, increases yeasty growth downstairs (you do the math!), and CAUSES WRINKLES (Oh hellllls NO!!)
Start date: July 29 (Feel free to binge on vegan cinnamon rolls and Dandies the night before as a last hurrah.)
Not allowed: Agave (yep, agave!), sucrose, high fructose corn syrup, fructose, succanat, turbinado sugar, malt, corn sweeteners, brown rice syrup, artificial sweeteners (e.g. Splenda), etc.
Acceptable sources of sweetness: Stevia, fruit, raw coconut nectar, pure maple syrup, xylitol, erythritol
