I thought I was going to spend this past weekend binging on ice cream, donuts, cinnamon rolls, pies, and vegan marshies as a final farewell to sugar…. Instead, I went shopping for healthy foods to prep for what I feel is going to be one of the most challenging events of my life (aside from birthing a human).
I read somewhere (can’t remember the source) that if you consume something sweet in the morning, you’ll be less likely to crave sweet stuff throughout the day. This inspired me to make a kickass power smoothie for brekkies.
Sunny’s Healthy-Ass Fruit Smoothie (sweet & sugar-free)
- ~5-7 frozen organic strawberries
- 1 large organic banana
- 1 Sambazon Acai Smoothie Pack
- 1.5 cups of coconut water
- 1 Tbsp Macrolife Naturals Macro Greens - I am SO into this stuff—makes me feel ALIVE!! It contains an abundance of antioxidants, co-nutrients, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and acidophilus cultures (aka probiotic gut mojo).
Blend all this healthy ish together and drank it up! It’s a sludgy color, but holy balls, it’s delish! Btw, I started a sugar-free vegan board on Pinterest! It has uh-MAZING yummy recipes for those weak moments when you need to put something sweet (but healthy) in your pie hole ← I believe there are even some sugar-free pie recipes on there, too.
