WTF moment of the day: Did you know trace amounts of chemicals from plastic (e.g. petroleum) and other dinnerware materials can leach into your food and beverages? SCARY, GROSS, and NO THANKY!

Yep, that’s why I’m in the process of switching over my bowls, plates, cups, etc. to stainless steel.

Other reasons to switch to steel:

  • It’s durable,
  • non-toxic,
  • waste-free,
  • lightweight,
  • inexpensive
  • The bowls look like kitty dishes (and can be used for that, too)
  • And no harsh chemicals are required for cleaning! Stainless steel can be cleaned, disinfected, and shined up with baking soda, vinegar, or olive oil.

There are a bunch of brands to choose from but I’m currently diggin’ ECOlunchbox.

Their Solo Cube ($20) is an adorbs, high-quality, kid-friendly, square snack box (perfect for sankies, baby carrots, you name it)! And if that isn’t bomb enough, I’ve been totin’ it around in a colorful cotton fair trade ECOsnacksack ($15), a pouch with ties that’s inspired by traditional furoshiki eco bags in Japan. Isn’t it beyond CUTE?

Have you started rockin’ stainless steel dishes yet?

These products were sent to me for review purposes, but the opinions expressed are my own.
