Schmidt’s for Happy Pits!

Now I know we’ve reviewed a BUNCH of vegan deodorant on VBR lately, and they all pretty much rock (maybe some a teensy weensy bit more than others), but O.M.G… Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant stands alone when it comes to gorgeous, sexy scents and its smooth texture and application.

Let me get all listy on this ish. Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant has stolen my because…

  • It’s vegan, cruelty-free and doesn’t contain ick ingredients like aluminum, parabens and phthalates, synthetics or harmful chemicals.
  • Everything is handcrafted in small batches by the lovely Jaime Schmidt in Portland, Oregon.
  • Cedarwood + Juniper ← To-die-for scent! I suppose it’s targeted more for dudes, but I LOVE wearing this one. It smells so earthy and sexy.
  • Ylang-Ylang + Calendula ← Another to-die-for scent! Sers, these two scents are like my fave smelly combos of all-time! I need them as perfumes, too… so good!!! This one is also super gorgeous and sexy-smelling. Ugh, it’s impossible to do these kick-ass deodorants justice in blog form… you HAVE to smell them in person for yourself! Either buy some STAT or hunt me down on the streets of Oaktown and sniff my pits, yo!
  • They’re mega affordable—only $8 for a 2 oz. jar, and it’s gonna last you for quite a while ’cause you only need to use a pea-sized amount!
  • They’re creamy and smooth (versus chalky and crumbly like a bunch of natural deodoros I’ve tried), and they are super easy to apply.
  • Each deodorant comes with a little applicator—hallelujah!
  • This stuff totally works (like for realsenstein)! I’m in love!

What’s your favorite vegan deodorant?

Terrible deodorant, it burned my skin like hell. Never ever buying it again. its still burning my skin and its not an anti perspirant. Hate it. rate 0

This deodorant is so hard to apply. It kind of works… but it’s grainy and gave me a rash. I won’t buy more.

I use Keeping Abreast of It by Simply Divine Botanicals. It’s in spray form. It’s as hippie as it gets but it works wonderfully.

    Bought some and tried it-
Definitely works to keep odors at bay, but is kind of inconvenient to apply.
It does not keep pits as dry as some other common brands, but it smells great (the Ylang-Ylang + Calendula smells sweet and slightly spicy- so amazing!).

All in all, pretty good find. I guess summer will really test its strength.

What are the ingredients on these? Can’t seem to find them online, and I try to avoid products with oil because they tend to stain my clothes :(

Just ordered the juniper for my hubbers. Thanks for the info!

So, I am having a bitchin’ hard time finding a deodorant that combats my usual smelliness. And of course, I’m becoming sensitive to fragranced deodorants, it seems. I may have to give this a try.

THANK YOU! I have had such bad luck lately with the “natural”, chemical-free deodorants I’ve tried from the store. Frankly, they suck. I’m anxious to try something that doesn’t suck! Love this review. :)

  9. Kelly says:

    I use g’uvner by lush.

  10. Jessica says:

I’m going to have to order the ylang ylang one. It sounds amazing!

Sounds amazing!!! I was using Soapwalla, until they raised the price..rude! Anyway, I switched to Crunchy Betty deo cream, which I’m liking so far! Next on my list might be this brand!
