DIY Seitan From ‘Chloe’s Kitchen’

Chloe’s Kitchen is seriously one of my favorite vegan cookbooks ever! Chloe is beyond adorbs, her recipes are hella yumz, and her cookbook is packed full of beautiful scrumptious deliumptious drool-worthy foodie pics! I’m a novice in the kitchen… actually, my cooking sucks undercooked vegan spaghetti balls. Chloe’s recipes give me hope, though! I decided to start with something simple: Chole’s DIY seitan. I’ve always had it in my mind that seitan took 50 hours to make and had lots of steps and crazy ingredients—but it turns out, it’s redonky-donk easy.

Behold… Sunbuns gets her seitan on with Chloe’s help! My seitan turned out to be bombishnator times infinitingly awesome (if I don’t say so myself)! My hubs thought it was the ish, too! See how I swapped out soy sauce for ginger soy sauce (in the pic)? This is my version of being edgy! 😉  I used some of my seitan to make stir-fry, a delish sammie, and I ate a decent amount of it straight-up, as-is. Nomnomnom…

    This is the recipe I use for seitan. I just spice it up with anything I feel like, and it just tastes so good anytime.
    My hubby gave me that book, and I use it all the time. Falafel is our favorite recipe at home.

    I love Chloe’s kitchen. I agree the seitan was easy to make and we loved it, my hubby stole the rest of it and took it to work and ate it all before I could make another stir-fry (i wanted more oh well) Chloe’s kitchen is one of my go to books for cooking. Her Lasagna is delicious, the fire roasted artichokes are amazing, I made the mocha almond fudge cake for my husbands birthday, it is to die for!!! It made carnivores drool and want more. Felafel sliders are delish, I cannot say a bad thing about her book. I am horrible at cooking and she explains everything very easy and as long as I am patient and read the directions I get good results and people think I am a great cook. Love Love Love.

    Seitan = gluten = not in my diet. Boo. I kinda want this book now so I can make Pineapple Not So Fried Rice.

    This is SUCH a great book! Everything I’ve made so far tastes great, is easy, and is impressive. I’m so proud of you for making homemade seitan!

    I have that cookbook and love it! My husband literally requests the Pineapple Not So Fried Rice EVERY week. haha I haven’t tried making seitan yet! You make it look easy!
