Get Your Cruelty-Free Million Dollar Smile

So I’ve been vegan for a few years now. I’ve definitely been around the block and back when it comes to cruelty-free toothpaste.

Conventional toothpaste is loaded with toxic chemicals and fluoride which can harm your body—not to mention, they are routinely tested on our innocent furry friends. I think all of us can agree to not support that ish, right?!

Good thing there are SO MANY cruelty-free toothpastes on the market today. Some are definitely better than others, which is why I’m going to share with you the best vegan oral hygiene products I have found:

  • Jason’s Powersmile Whitening Toothpaste in Cinnamon Mint flavor is the one I keep going back to. This healthy deliciousness is free of fluoride, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, and many other harmful ingredients that are typically found in toothpastes. This toothpaste definitely gives me that fresh-to-death-breath I need to lock lips with my boo thang. 😉
  • Speaking of boo thang—he has a serious complex when it comes to toothpaste and actually hates anything minty flavored. I know, strange human being. So I purchased him a Preserve Toothbrush to leave over at mi casa (in pink of course) 😉 and some Auromere Mint-Free Toothpaste so that he can have fresh breath and clean teeth at my house without being Mr. Grumpy Pants about using my minty toothpaste. 🙂 I tried this toothpaste out myself and it is surprisingly tasty and refreshing. Also, it is made with super pure and natural ingredients and left me with a fresh, but not overwhelmingly minty strong aftertaste. I approve!
  • Okay so I’m going to give a shout out to my peeps over at Eco-Dent. These dudes know how to make some awesome and affordable cruelty-free products! I’m in love with their Eco-Dent Gentle Floss, and I have been happily using it for years!

  • Now that your teefies are all fresh and clean, you need to make sure they’re naturally white and bright! But don’t use the awful chemical laden store-brought teeth whitening products that will destroy your enamel and have negative affects on your body! Instead try out Sunny’s DIY Tooth Whitener Recipe! She definitely knows a smile is worth a thousand words, but not when it’s overly bleached and smothered in fluoride! 🙂

So that’s how I keep my oral hygiene in check! What are your favorite cruelty-free oral products?

Dessert Essence uses beeswax and is not vegan…sorry!

  2. Jamie says:

My favourite non-minty toothpaste is anything fennel/anise flavoured…the one I’m currently using is Nature’s Gate Creme de Anise. Yum!

I’ve actually never tried Nature’s Gate toothpastes. I’m a fan of their body lotion for sure though! Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll definitely give it a try!

Thanks for this super useful post! I’ve heard a lot of positive things about Jason Natural toothpaste, I’ll probably try their toothpaste out soon. I definitely agree, some cruelty-free and natural toothpastes are better than others (I’ve unfortunately come across quite a few of the less-than-stellar variety), and since toothpaste is such an essential, I think this post will be helpful to a lot of people!
