Zit-Zappin’ Neem and Other Christy Faves!

September 28, 2012By 2 Comments

Hello beautiful VBR readers! I think it’s been well over a year since my last blog, but I’m back with even more awesomeness for you!

So a lot has changed since the last time I revealed some of my favorite vegan finds (including my hair! Oh how I miss being a redhead). What hasn’t changed is the constant battle I have with my skin! Dare I mention the evilness that has caused me grief since the tender age of 13… ACNE! Eeeeek!!

My skin had gotten even worse—to the point that I was considering getting back on prescription acne medication. Then I was introduced to a product that changed my life, like legitimately. Neem oil has been naturally curing many types of skin conditions for centuries. It has been used to treat acne, eczema, and rosacea, among many other things.

My friend introduced me to this brand that is sold locally here in North Carolina called Just Neem and it is uh-mazing. I have never believed that there are miracle products out there, but this bad boy is the closest I have ever came to perfection. I just lather this bar of soap in my hands under warm water and massage it on my skin and rinse it off. I don’t even have to use a moisturizer. Yeah, you read right—NO MOISTURIZER. What da f*q?! Also, did I mention it’s organic? And it only costs $5.95!! Maybe heaven does exist.

If by some chance some dirty bacteria bastards creep in under my skin and cause a gross zit to pop up, I’ll dab a little bit of tea tree oil directly on it and it’s gone by the next day! I’m tellin’ you people, I’m workin’ magic ovah here. I like Desert Essence’s Tea Tree Oil because it is cheap, cruelty-free, and organic which is so so important!

While I’m still a huge fan of Monave Mineral Makeup, I came across another brand that is giving Monave a run for its money. So, I ran out of my awesome Monave makeup the day I had to go on a first date! :O If you can imagine the terror that came over me, you’ll understand why I flew to Whole Foods frantically trying to find a makeup that could hold its own next to the makeup I’ve been using for well over a year (thanks to Sunny :))!

I was able to sample Mineral Fusion Pressed Powder Foundation in-store and it covered all of my imperfections wonderfully!! It has pretty pure ingredients, is vegan and cruelty-free, and it got the job done! I am still married to Monave, but I’ll cheat with this bad boy in my time of need, if ya know what I’m sayin’. 🙂

Also, in case you were wondering, the date sucked, but it wasn’t because your girl wasn’t lookin’ fly! 😉

So there you have it folks an updated version of my favorite vegan beauty finds. Do you have any discoveries in the vegan beauty world that have changed your life?

Stay beautiful!

I really want to try the Just Neem soap bar. Thanks for introducing it to me, acne is having a hay day in my skin these days. My makeup has neem in it too. Also a friend just recommended the tea tree oil as well so your mention of it is confirmation that I should give it a try. I hope to see positive results!

Everyday Minerals has changed all the makeup I use. There are one of the few makeup companies that I buy from that is also extremely affordable. I also found Eco Tools the other day which is another awesome company that carries eco friendly cosmetic tools.
