July 12, 2011By 45 Comments

So my boo and I recently signed up to run a half-marathon this October (with the PETA Pack), and I have to be honest, we have been slacking on getting in shape! Eeks!

I’m going to kick my keester into high gear starting this week though (promise). ← For realsies! Next time you see me, you might not even recognize me, and you’ll be like “Girl, where’d all your jiggly bits go?” (I’ll try to keep some of my jiggly bits, though… the ones that count!)

Anywho, I’m going to use the Top Trainers DVD set to get all sexy and bufftitudinal! What’s awesome about this particular 10 dvd set is that it combines a variety of 10 workouts with 10 different top-notch trainers, so it’s a mixture of cardio, yoga, plyometrics, Latin dance, kickboxing, pilates, ballet and interval training—all FUN (and never boring)! I’m super excited, and I want you to get excited too, ’cause VBR has a Top Trainers DVD set up for grabs!

For your chance to win this Top Trainers workout DVD set ($100 value), simply leave a comment below telling me about one of your favorite ways to get in shape. A winner will be randomly selected and notified on July 26. Good luck!

  1. Julia says:

    I love running and hiking! : )

  2. Emily says:

My favorite way to get in shape is playing beach volleyball and hiking; they are fun activites that get people outside, rather than trapped in a gym.

  3. MichelleS says:

My favorite way to get in shape is ripped in 30 + 200 sit ups a day, but I need something more to amp up my workout.

  4. For me its a toss up between yoga/pilates and running outdoors. They are both FAB workouts, it just depends on the mood I am in :)

  5. Leanna says:

I really like to go cycling with my hubs. But when we really want a day in, we do the workout videos (mostly made by Crunch) that are available on Netflix!

  6. erinzee says:

walking, walking, walking is what fits best into my life-with-toddler right now, but running is also classic – either one ALWAYS get results! My toddler is starting to enjoy trying some yoga with me now so that is also fun. I also have some serious pilates love if I can ever find non-toddler time.

The other thing I swear by? STRETCHING! It may not burn as many calories, but even stretching alone increases fitness levels and makes those muscles feel ohsomuch better!

  7. Nicki says:

I love running and biking. I just find oth so easy to do, rather I am in a bad mood or not I can just get up and go.

  8. Jess says:

Yoga, running, walking, eliptical and DVDs at home because I have a 1 and a half year old and a five month old!

  9. Rachel D says:

I love doing all kinds of workouts so i dont get bored. right now Im doing TurboJam and swimming (with my kids).

  10. Ashley H. says:

I love doing workout dvds. that way I can mix it up and don’t get bored.

  12. Rachel says:

Not working out right now due to pregnancy complications, but I will need it in a few months! Normally I do exercise DVDs.

  13. My favorite workout is a toss up between Yoga/Pilates and Jogging Outdoors. I like to jog in the early morning and then do some yoga/pilates later in the evening. It is a great way to relax :)

  14. Claudette says:

I love to walk/jog around Shelley lake (a lake that’s about 10 minutes away from my house). It’s beautiful, and shaded by trees and the lake sparkles. It also has a few hills and lots of places to sit and enjoy the view. It’s also about 2.5 miles around and I like to go around twice. It doesn’t even feel like exercise.

I also enjoy my Jillian Michaels shred DVDs at home. And at the gym, the elliptical is my best friend.

  15. Mary Ann D. says:

On my lunch hour at work, I speed walk all around my building!

  16. Giant Sis says:

I love Jillian Michaels DVDs – she keeps things varied and I love interval training anyway!

  17. Mary says:

I could definitely use a good workout! Always wanted to try yoga and pilates. :)

I currently love Zumba and Body Pump. I’m not into running, but I do love to walk a lot, and bike ride as well.

  22. Francisco says:

Yoga is definitely my favorite workout! It keeps me balanced and focused!

  23. Serra says:

I’ve found that walking daily is really helpful (we don’t own a car and live in Japan, where everyone walks tons and there are very few obese folks). Combine that with high weight, low rep free weight work. Lather, rinse, repeat.

  24. Angela says:

I like doing interval training on the elliptical.

  25. Amanda says:

Krav Maga and running are my favorites along with the occasional Jillian Michaels dvd. I’d like to add some yoga and Tahitian dance as well.

  26. Sherrie says:

My fave way to get in shape is a mixture of lifting weights and then running…used to be just running but I love the muscle definition I am seeing since I started a lifting routine!!

  27. Lauren says:

Zumba is my new favorite workout but also love just running and biking

  28. Sam says:

What is this “getting in shape” thing that you speak of?! haha j/k I just do cardio on the treadmill and yoga. Occasionally I will do some “aerobic weight training” with a VHS tape of the Firm from the 80′s. yikes!

  29. Deanne says:

Running….and running and running….chasing my kid and dogs then running and running

  30. Rose says:

The combination of walking/running, weight training, and yoga. I can thank these three babies for being in shape and feeling awesome.

    I LOVE kickboxing! =)

  33. Christy says:

    :O These look awesome.

I love doing yoga, but I do the same old boring yoga videos. (Tara Stiles has an awesome youtube channel)

I don’t want to spend money on going to a class. Hook ya girl up! :D

  34. J.A. says:

For me it would definitely be Yoga and Dancing, however I really like to go for a jog from time to time. :)
Thanks for doing such an amazing giveaway! ^^

Dancing was my favorite forever and I still love it, but I’ve also become addicted to spin class! It always kicks my butt and I feel so badass afterwards.

This DVD looks amazing! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  36. Marti says:

I love the Wii, you can have so much fun on there while getting fit!

  37. hj says:

I don’t follow a regimen unless I have a friend to keep me in check. So jogging with friends is probably my best bet.

  38. Katherine says:

Last summer I did P90X (which kicked my butt!), but I would love to try something that has more variety – like the latin dance, pilates, and ballet that are part of this workout. Good luck with your training!
