Grateful Body Skin Care Giveaway!

June 21, 2011By 113 Comments

In my many years of testing the latest and greatest vegan beauty products, I’ve come across a kazillion beauty lines that have seriously kicked some major ass, but there are an elite few that have made me devoted, quasi-obsessed brand junkies.

Grateful Body is one of these said beauty lines that makes me wanna do cartwheels and shout from the rooftops. Yep, this ish (Christy, you’ve got me “ish”ing out) is THE ish times 12! And, this family-owned and operated business is located in Berkeley, CA which is essentially my new home (I’m just a mini hop, skip & a jump/bike ride away).

All of their products are high quality, cruelty-free, vegan, chemical-free, eco-conscious (down to their über cool packaging), and very effective!

After I dish my faves, be sure to enter the VBR/Grateful Body giveaway below!

Must-trys:

Deep Cleanser, $24: I use this at night because my skin has been uncharacteristically dry for this time of year, and so creamy cleansers are what I’m all about right now. It has a delicate floral scent and it’s packed with a shit on of nutritious, antioxidant-rich ingredients (like Quillaja Extract, Oatstraw, Yucca Root, Shea Butter and Vitamin E) that literally infuse my skin with a power dose of moisture. It’s perf for oily and combo skin, btw… and it does an amazing job at removing stubborn makeup.

Moisturizer for Normal Skin, $30: I have a theory about facial moisturizers… the more you switch ‘em up, the more your skin stays on tops of its game (similar to switching up shampoos). Overall, I love thick-ass, dense facial moisturizers at night (so my skin can slurp of extra amounts of moisture while I’m Zzzzz-ing. In the mornings, I like to use to use a lighter, but still super hydrating formula so that my makeup goes on easily (without slipping and sliding). This moisturizer has been my daytime go-to. It’s absorbs super quickly, smells divoon, and leaves my skin feeling refreshed.

Essential Eye Creme, $40: This wrinkle fighting ninja cream packs a punch with ingredients like Shea butter, Amaranth Seed Extract, and Bulgarian Rose essential oil… addicted.

For your chance to win one of three Grateful Body Skin Care sets ($57.60) and a bottle of Midnight Oil ($22), simply leave a comment below and tell me about your favorite can’t-live-without vegan beauty product. For additional entries, “like” Vegan Beauty Review and Grateful Body Skin Care on Facebook, “follow” VBR and Grateful Body Skincare on Twitter, and/or join Grateful Body’s mailing list (please leave additional comments letting me know you did so for each). Also, don’t forget to mention your skin type in your comment! Three winners will be randomly selected and notified on July 12. Good luck!

liked vbr and grateful body on facebook! i am all about dr. singha’s mustard bath. whenever i’m having a particularly rough day, i sink my feet into a basin of it. GLORIOUS! i have normal skin (or so i would assume)

  2. Carole says:

Tried Grateful Body’s Aphrodite’s Feast and the Sea Cell Serum as well as the fungus treatment. Just as the fungus treatment worked wonders on the toenails, Aphrodite’s Feast was impressive in that the scent made me feel good and it seemed to show an immediate effect.

  3. Carole says:

Since I commented on the Grateful Body fungus treatment for toenails which after four packages has made a tremendous difference, I have tried Grateful Body’s Aphrodite’s Feast Serum and the Sea Cell serum. I really liked the Aphrodite’s Feast Serum. It seemed to really show an automatic improvement and the scent left me feeling good.

Did I make it in time for the contest?

  4. becca so says:

I could not live without apple cider vinegar. When I had dreadlocks I washed them with bakingsoda and tea tree oil and rinsed with apple cider vinegar and rosemary oil. I still wash my hair the same way. I use coconut oil and bentonite clay for deodorant and just plain coconut oil for lotion. All of these things are vegan and food grade!

I know it’s been said before, but Urban Decay eyeshadows are such a treat. As someone who wears makeup very rarely, and uses products very sparingly, I am quite particular about what I put on my face. Urban Decay’s color range is excellent and the shadows blend remarkably well.

  63. Becca says:

A DIY face scrub to die for:

4 TBS Olive Oil (I’m going to use Jojoba Oil next time once I have it_
6 TBS Ground Organic, Fair Trade Coffee

All you do is mix the two together, creating a mud-like paste, rub all over your face and rinse off! Holly molly my face has never felt this smooth!! Only down side was all of the coffee grounds left in my sink, might need to be a shower scrub :)

    Hope you enjoy!!

  64. Kelly says:

I love Weleda’s Lavender Body Oil. The scent isn’t overly flowery and completely relaxes me. I’ve mixed it in with Alba Organics unscented body lotion ($10 for a 70oz container at Target!) to make my own scented lotion, or if I’m feeling really stressed I’ll use it directly on my arms and legs to chill out before bed.

  65. Carole says:

I have been amazed by the funghi toenail treatment. I have used four packages now and found these natural products working miracles in clearing up my embarassing toenails. A couple more boxes and I may finally be able to show them off proudly.

  73. Fiona says:

I like Grateful Body on Facebook (Fiona G)

  74. Fiona says:

Mineral foundation by Pure Anada. I never liked the look of regular foundation or face powder. But mineral foundation evens out the skin magically without looking like anyone is on! AND its a sunscreen AND an anti-inflammatory (the zinc oxide). Amazing, wish I’d had it years ago.
