Brace Yourselves for the Best Vegan Makeup Ever!

October 8, 2010By 15 Comments

By now I’m sure you’ve all picked up on my affinity for Everyday Minerals. I fell in love with this makeup line the very first time I tried it. I plan on making a YouTube video/tutorial about achieving the smokey eye look using Everyday Minerals eyeshadows (look for it soon).

In the meantime, I wanted to share with you the many reasons why this makeup line is super fantastic. Feel free to add to my list in the comments section below. :)

  1. Everyday Minerals is 100% vegan and cruelty-free—now that’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout!
  2. I miraculously found a cheek shade (Pink Ribbon, $9) that complements my olive skin tone—this is a BIG deal (I’ve been searching for this for practically my entire life!)
  3. Also, their blush containers are uniquely designed to snap shut (inside) so that the mineral makeup doesn’t fly everywhere the next time you open it—GENIUS! Seriously, why isn’t this the status quo?
  4. Their vegan makeup brushes are hands-down the best I’ve ever tried (super soft and easy to work with)… I’m especially fond of their angled blending brush ($6)
  5. Their eye colors are richly pigmented and come in insanely bright, fun and shimmery shades (as well as earthy, natural ones) to cover all of your whimsical makeup moods ($6.50 each)
  6. This makeup is affordable, people! I don’t wanna pay $15-20 for a frickin’ eyeshadow (although I’ve definitely been known to [reluctantly] splurge on occasion)… Brands like Everyday Minerals actually make it possible to save some of my paycheck for other things like *pause* I don’t know, food?
  7. They have cheap makeup kits! For example, for $20 you can get a Pillow Mints Lip Balm; Rare Silk (sample size); Mrs. Coffee Eyeliner (sample size); Raw Sugar (mini size); Happiness Bronzer (mini size); Natural Lucent (mini size); Baby Bamboo Flat Top Brush and a cute “My Love is a Renewable Source” Bamboo Tote
  8. They even have makeup kits for men!
  9. Um, free samples? Yes please! :D

‘Tis all for now! What do you love about Everyday Minerals? Any recommendations?

Hugs, kisses, booty slaps and & high fives,

♥ Sunny

Can anyone recommend options for concealer, blush and foundation for a fair-skin redhead? Thanks.

    • Shay says:

It’s a little on the pricey side but Hourglass makes an awesome liquid foundation if you’re looking for fuller coverage. You can always get free samples from Sephora if you want to try it out first. And as far as concealer goes, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics makes the absolute best concealer!

  2. Brooke says:

I just made my first order from Everyday Minerals and absolutely LOVE them. Very good coverage, love it all…I have lots of samples as well to decide my next order. Terrific quality.

  3. I just looove Everyday Minerals ;) I’ve tried their brushes, foundation, concealer, almost all of their eyeshadows, their brow colors, lip products and their blush & am always satisfied.

    Hi Sunny,

Have you tried any of their lipsticks? How do they wear?

    Thanks!

Thanks, Sunny! It sounded like “fair” was the lightest on the site, so I ordered that kit and a blush. Can’t wait to try them! I’ll definitely let you know what I think!

  6. kim g. says:

Hi, Sunny! I used bare minerals for years, but this makeup looks awesome so I want to give it a try. I’m going to order a try me kit but don’t know if I should get “fair” or “ivory” – I’ve emailed the company and contacted them through twitter, but haven’t had a response yet. Do you by any chance have any idea which kit is lighter?

    • Sunny says:

My guess would be that fair is the lightest (not totally sure). Hopefully they’ll get back to you soon. I can’t wait to hear how you like their makeup. :)

  8. Juliana says:

unfortunately they don’t ship to brazil anymore :(

Hey Sunny, check out my blog whenever you have some free time! It’s in Portuguese, but it’s all about cruelty-free cosmetics too!

  9. Monica says:

Everyday Minerals is the only makeup I use. I love their makeup and brushes. They just sell online but the shipping is very reasonable.

  10. Alexandra says:

Where could one get these? I’ve never come across this brand. Or is it only available online?

I’m definitely pro affordable vegan make up. On a student budget, I don’t necessarily have the money to splurge on make up. Thanks for the info! I’ll definitely keep an eye out for these products.
