My friends have always hyped up San Francisco’s Millennium for years, saying it was the BEST vegan food they’ve ever had. So when my hubby and I went to San Fran a couple months ago, I was eager to see what the big deal was. I’m not one to fall for hype so I had average expectations for this new-to-me dining experience. OMFG, Millennium is the shiznit times 12 (totally worth the hype and more)! I was seriously blown away by every single item we ordered. We got the tasting menu (I highly recommend you do the same), so we got to sample everything! My faves: Black Bean Torte, Mushroom Duxelle Roulade and all of their desserts! Nomnomnom…

I could live on the oyster mushrooms. No seriously.
Millennium is one of my top 3 places to eat in this country and it truly brings fine dining to veganism…or veganism to fine dining.
->quarrygirl: it doesn’t matter what you order. You could just as well close your eyes and point to the menu and you wont be disappointed. Eric Tucker and his team are true Masters.
I have a review back in Aug ’08 on my blog Marty’s Flying Vegetarian Review at http://www.martysnycveggiereview.blogspot.com
Man I can’t wait to get back to SF!
Enjoy.
My spouse and I got a gift certificate to Millennium and went a few months ago. We weren’t sure what to expect, but we loved everything we tried — wonderfully seasoned, interesting food. (I have since learned that mint and lemon can be a good combo!) Dessert, which was something like a dense chocolate brownie with cherry sauce and ice cream, was awesome, too.
i’m going here saturday, and i’m so excited!
i don’t know what to order!! did you guys get the 5 course chef’s tasting menu, or the 3 course prixe fix menu? i’m nervous if i get the chef’s one, they may bring something i don’t like….because there are no descriptions for it online.
can’t wait!
Yahoooooooooo!!!! We got the 5 course chef’s tasting menu (but not the seasonal one) and it was the BOMB! I would let the waiter know about any food aversions – they seem pretty on top of that stuff… the last thing they want is for you to chomp into a giant bell pepper.
I can’t wait to hear what you order!
