All right, you protein lovin’, Seitan worshipin’ foodies, guess what? I’ve found the tastiest meatless jerky on the planet! Don’t get me wrong, there are lots of vegan jerky options to choose from, but after doing some personal research, I have found a winner.
Primal Strips are meat-free jerky snacks made from soy, seitan and shitake mushrooms that are so tasty, I bet even meat eaters could be fooled. They’re not only delish but they’re healthy too. The contain non-GMO ingredients, are 97% fat free, vegan, Kosher, high in protein (~10 grams of protein per single serving), cholesterol free and preservative free. Each individual pack is only $1.39 – that’s a great deal for a satiating power snack.
Primal Strips are extremely versatile too! The are great by themselves as a snack in between meals, but you can also chop them up and add them to salads, stir frys, sandwiches, you name it.
Primal Strips is the best tasting vegan jerky I’ve ever tried. I love the texture (softer than other brands of meatless jerky) and all of their flavors are really umphy and satisfying. I got to try all six flavors: Hickory Smoked (gluten free), Thai Peanut, Hot & Spicy, Teriyaki, Texas BBQ (gluten free) and Mesquite Lime – they were all beyond yumyum! If I had to choose my favs I’d have to say that Thai Peanut and Teriyaki especially rocked my world.

As a lifelong vegetarian, I never understood the enchantment with jerky. Then my sister gave me the Hot & Spicy flavor of Primal Strips…Wow! I was hooked from that moment on.

Although Melbourne is pretty much vegan heaven for Vegans in this Australia, we still miss out on access to good stuff like cliff bars and primal strips. Customs/AQS doesn’t make it easy.
