Skin MD Shielding Vegan Lotion Giveaway!

PB170438It’s dry skin season, peeps and I know we’re all in the market for an awesome moisturizing hand/foot/face lotion… a vegan and cruelty-free one that works. I recently tried Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion and it fit the bill. I had actually never heard of a shielding lotion before so I did a little research. So it turns out not only does this lotion moisturize (with ingredients like aloe vera, arnica, yarrow, chamomile, comfrey and Vitamin E) but this lotion also bonds to the outer layer of your skin, literally creating a barrier which prevents toxins, chemicals and irritants from permeating your skin (like wearing an invisible glove – but this lotion is light, non-greasy and won’t clog pores). At the same time, it allows your skin’s natural moisture to do it’s thing so you’re getting double the protection.

It’s fragrance-free, paraben-free, cruelty-free, vegan, hypoallergenic and can be used on your face, hands and your entire body.

Leave a comment on this post to be entered to win a free bottle of Skin MD Shielding Lotion ($18 value). A winner will be randomly selected and announced on Nov. 24.Β  Good luck!

  1. Hi…how many of these creams are being given away on November? I’m happy that Monica won but…which year of Nov. did she win it? If 2012 then there’s no point on trying now, or is this being repeated yearly?

    Sorry for the questionnaire.

I’m a vegan of 35 years (a veggie of 40 years) and never detoured from my vegan lifestyle knowingly. πŸ™‚ Adela

    • Kudos on the vegan streak – that’s awesome! πŸ™‚

This contest ended but we we’re always having giveaways on VBR so check back often. Thanks!

  2. I love nothing more than discovering and supporting cruelty free products! I would love to try this product and then spread the word to all my friends and family. xoxo

  3. That looks fantastic; I’d love to try it! I’m a new vegan and am using up all my old body/face products before finding cruelty-free alternatives, so this would be a great place to start.

  4. I would love to win this. I would like to say how great your product is, but honestly I have never tried it. I currently use a homemade concotion of lemon juice, sugar , and safflower oil. This requires rinsing. Pick me so I can leave my vegan moisturizer on! Thanks, Nikki

  5. This lotion looks great. I sing in a choir and as a courtesy to my fellow singers must use fragrance-free soaps, lotions, shampoos, etc. – and sometimes it can be a challenge finding vegan/cruelty free items that are also fragrance free. So,thanks! (Found you from the LA Times article a few months ago.)

  6. Just found this site from No Whey! and boy I am glad I did. I love to get new products and finding vegan, animal friendly is the goal. THANKS!!

  7. Ladies or Gentlemens, if anyone dares to Chris Brown you, use this lotion, it helps heal bruising. Arnica is all Rhianna ever really needed, which is a key ingredient in this Skin MD formula!

  8. I work with with wet, dirty produce all day long and wash my hands about a thousand times a day. At the end of the day, my hands are trashed! This lotion sounds like a lifesaver!

  9. It’s already freezing on the east coast and I can’t seem to drink enough water to hydrate from the inside; hopefully this will help from the outside.

  10. I just came across this blog this weekend and it’s awesome! I am a vegan neophyte, (I just started going vegan about a month ago) so this site is really helpful for me in terms of product recommendations and what kinds of ingredients to avoid. I haven’t come across any other sites devoted to vegan beauty products! As a fellow beauty junkie, this site makes me happy. It would be great to try this lotion – I live in upstate New York, and am facing a long, skin drying winter ahead of me.

    • Where in upstate NY. I’m from Rochester and smile when people from Albany tell me they are from upstate NY.
Glad that you found this web site. Sunny had lots of fascinating things to share.

  11. Awesome! I would be so thankful if I won this πŸ™‚ My skin sucks, haha. And I’m broke, so getting good lotion is pretty hard.

  12. My wife goes through lotion like crazy! Well…I use it too!! Always looking for some good vegan/cruelty free lotion out there to cure the dry skin! This looks like some good stuff!!
